87Labs presents Payloop

87Labs brings Payloop to Web Summit Rio and bets on intelligent management to boost the growth of SaaS companies:
Platform developed by Brazilian company expands subscriber lifecycle management and seeks to reduce delinquency and increase retention in the recurring revenue market.
At Web Summit Rio, 87Labs will unveil its latest venture for the software-as-a-service (SaaS) market: Payloop, a recurring billing management infrastructure built to help companies design and scale new revenue models without operational complexity. Selected for the event's Alpha program, the platform emerges at a moment of profound transformation in the technology industry — one in which the evolution of billing models is becoming just as critical as the evolution of the product itself.
Over the past few decades, the software market has shifted from perpetual licenses to recurring subscriptions and usage-based or on-demand pricing. As artificial intelligence accelerates its integration into SaaS products, a new financial inflection point is reshaping the industry. AI-powered products introduce ongoing variable costs tied to model processing and inference, pushing companies to develop far more flexible and intelligent monetization strategies in order to sustain rapid growth without sacrificing profitability.
According to Thiago da Cruz, CEO of 87Labs, this shift is placing mounting pressure on technology companies and their finance teams. "CEOs know they need to embed AI into their products, but many CFOs still haven't figured out how to turn that into healthy revenue. Traditional flat-rate subscription billing no longer covers every scenario. The market needs more flexibility to monetize consumption, delivered value, and diverse customer journeys," he said.
It is against this backdrop that Payloop was built. The platform was designed to give companies the speed and scalability to launch new billing models, enabling them to operate multiple products, multiple billing metrics, and different monetization strategies within a single infrastructure.
Payloop supports traditional subscriptions, usage-based models, hybrid billing, event-driven charges, AI consumption billing, and custom invoicing rules — all without requiring companies to build their own infrastructure from scratch. The goal is to reduce operational complexity so that businesses can adapt their revenue models quickly as market conditions evolve.
Beyond its billing layer, the platform places a strong emphasis on subscriber lifecycle management, allowing companies to monitor acquisition, expansion, retention, and churn risk from a centralized view. The solution combines billing technology, operational intelligence, and behavioral analytics to turn financial and usage data into strategic business decisions.
Available features include automatic recurring payments via Pix and credit card, along with intelligent dunning strategies to recover failed charges and reduce involuntary churn. The platform also supports configurable payment fallback flows, minimizing involuntary cancellations and improving overall retention.
"This is not just a billing upgrade. We are entering a phase where monetization becomes a core part of product strategy. Companies will need to test new pricing formats at a much faster pace than before, and building that capability in-house could become a serious bottleneck," said Daniel Pisano, Head of Investments at 87Labs.
Currently in beta, the solution is being tested by a select group of customers and is expected to open to the broader market in the coming months. The company aims to reach 50,000 processed subscriptions by the end of the year.
Founded in 2017, 87Labs began as a technology consultancy and now operates across Brazil, the United States, and Europe. The Payloop launch at Web Summit marks another step in the company's broader strategic shift toward building proprietary products, expanding its footprint beyond technology services.
The company will be located in the Startups Alpha area during the event, presenting Payloop to investors, partners, and companies looking to build more flexible, scalable revenue models ready for the new era of artificial intelligence.
Web Summit Rio 2026 will take place from June 8 to 11 at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro. The conference brings together global technology leaders, investors, and startups to discuss the most important trends shaping the industry.
